This module covers drafting and amendment of wills, execution formalities, capacity, validity, revocation, and succession (testate and intestate). It includes estate administration, liquidation and distribution accounts, estate duty calculations, and practical application of South African legislation governing wills, estates, succession, and surviving spouses’ maintenance.

This paper tests practical legal bookkeeping skills, including trust money management, double-entry accounting, journals, ledgers, bank reconciliations, VAT, and correspondent matters. It requires drafting and supervision of legal accounting records, ethical and control measures, and application of the Legal Practice Act. Candidates must also manage trust accounts, rectify errors, and correctly account for fees, investments, and client funds.
